Care and Treatment of Children and Adolescents

Overview

The Pediatric Specialty Clinic is developed for the specific needs of Children and Adolescents as they grow. Diagnosis is often difficult early in life and can be heart-wrenching for parents.  However, it is a starting point of assisting children who have psychiatric illness in their journey to achieving fuller health. This Pediatric Specialty Clinic focuses on collaboration with parents in finding the best treatment available for their children.

Treatments

A Diagnostic Evaluation gets things started. At the first appointment, your provider will discuss options for your child’s treatment, which may include medications to treat their specific illness. There may be further evaluation, such as a free CPT (a neuropsychological test that screens for the presence of ADHD). Common medication classes are anti-depressants, mood stabilizers, anxiolytics (anti-anxiety meds), antihistamines, and stimulant medications for ADHD.
